Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed when silica-rich lava cools rapidly with very little crystal growth. In Silver Sheen Obsidian, microscopic gas bubbles and mineral particles become trapped within the glass as it forms. When polished, these fine layers reflect light to create the distinctive silver sheen seen across the surface.
