Despite its name, Bumblebee Jasper isn’t actually a true jasper. It forms in volcanic environments and is made up of a combination of minerals that create its distinctive yellow, orange, cream and dark banding. Material sold as Bumblebee Jasper is most famously associated with volcanic deposits in Indonesia.

As Bumblebee Jasper can contain sulphur and arsenic-bearing minerals, polished pieces are best handled with care. Avoid creating dust, grinding or cutting the stone, and wash your hands after prolonged handling.
